Parrot announces a pair of RC corkers

This year’s CES extravaganza introduced a raft of new gadgets and gizmos, some good, some bad. However, one – or rather two – items that especially tickled our fancy came flying out of the Parrot stand. Aside from equipping most modern cars with their hands-free devices, Parrot is also responsible for bringing us the AR Drone quadcopter. True to form, they’ve been beavering away on a pair of cool new RC products destined for launch later this year. The palm-sized Parrot MiniDrone is a smartphone-enabled quadcopter with a pair of large, spindly removable wheels on the side. This means it can not only fly, but drive along the floor and even the ceiling! To accompany this feisty little gizmo, Parrot will also be launching its two-wheeled Jumping Sumo ‘insectoid’ RC vehicle. This one’s especially clever as it not only scoots across the floor like a demented demon, but it can leap up onto tables from a standing start while filming the chaos from its forward-facing camera. We’ll be first to tell you more as soon as we get our hands them. In the meantime, read our reviews of the latest RC vehicles and aircraft here.
